21 Days My mind wanders as I'm trying not to fall in love with you 'Cause every time I awake I ponder on my mistakes of What I said, it is always my esteen that I sure lose Playing those stupid games as I always end up chasing you I can't help myself anymore Rehearsing my thoughts as I'm too scared to come to your door I pushed it all aside just to stand next to you But now you won't talk to me for something that I didn't do It's not gonna work And I'm trying not to think of you I'm all confused as I think of the things that I would do I'm all shook up as I get all nervous inside My emotions are something that I will always hide ____________________________________________________________ What's My Age Again? I took her out it was Friday night I wore cologne to get the feeling right We started making out and she took off my pants But then I turned on the TV And that?s about the time that she walked away from me Nobody likes you when you?re 23 And are still more amused by TV shows What the hell is ADD? My friends say I should act my age What?s my age again? What?s my age again? Then later on, on the drive home I called her mom from a pay phone I said I was the cops And your husband?s in jail This state looks down on sodomy And that?s about the time that bitch hung up on me Nobody likes you when your 23 And are still more amused by prank phone calls What the hell is caller ID? My friends say I should act my age What?s my age again? What?s my age again? And that?s about the time she walked away from me Nobody likes you when your 23 And you still act like you?re in Freshman year What the hell is wrong with me? My friends say I should act my age What?s my age again? What?s my age again? That?s about the time she broke up with me No one should take themselves so seriously With many years ahead to fall in line Why would you wish that on me? I never want to act my age What?s my age again? What?s my age again? _____________________________________________________________ Adam's Song I never thought I?d die alone I laughed the loudest who?d have known? And now she knows too much And I'm too fucked up It's awkward trying to make my move I'll pretend that I'm fine Show up right on time But I know I'll never be that cool I never wanted to hold you back I just wanted to hold on But my chance is gone I know / just where / I stand / a boy Trapped in the body of a man and I'll take what you're willing to give And I'll teach myself to live With a walk-on part of a background shot From a movie I'm not in She's so important And I'm so retarded And now I realize I should have kissed you in L.A. But I drove home all alone As if I had a choice, anyway Where are you coming from? What are you running from? Is it so hard to see? And if you're feeling scared Remember the time we shared You know it meant everything (everything) You know that it meant everything to me You know that it meant everything to me ____________________________________________________________ A New Hope I've got her in my head At night when I go to bed And I know it sounds lame, but She's the girl of my dreams And of course I'd do anything for her I'd search the moons of Endor I'd even walk naked through The deserts of Tatooine Princess Leia, where are you tonight? And who's laying there by your side? Every night I fall asleep with you And I wake up alone And even though I'm not as cool as Han I still want to be your man You're exactly the kind of Alderranian that I need But when you were available, I was Drinking Colt 45's with Lando I was hanging out in the cantina On Mos Eisley Princess Leia, where are you tonight? And who's laying there by your side? Every night I fall asleep with you And I wake up alone Princess Leia [2x] Princess Leia, where are you tonight? And who's laying there by your side? Every night I fall asleep with you And I wake up alone ____________________________________________________________ Ben Wah Balls (No we ain't gonna take it unless it's from a doverman pincher Ladies and gentlemen, for your listening pleasure, Blink) Passively one day as the sun rose out of it's house So did this little old guy as he whistled out of his mouth And happily and gay Well I guessed exactly that Because he found a special girl That put him in a special trance He fell in love so quickly What the hell was he to expect That the girl under his arm wasn't the same As any other girl That he had thought that he once met I guess you could only blame fate Things started getting weird as they started to kiss She often felt his beard and remembered how her father she missed And then quietly one day He sang a song from deep within his heart Causing some ingestion He finished with a great big fart and She knew at that one moment That song was something she heard before So she asked him to do that again Then out the door they hurried She was gonna find out for sure So she analyzed his rear end She said, "When I was a little girl my dad left my mom. He used to always fart and sing this special song. Now I wasn't quite so sure until your pants did fall. 'Cause now I know that your my dad because you use ben wah balls." I said a wah, wah, wah-wah-wah, Wah, wah-wah-wah, wah... Interview with Mark Hoppus (bass and vocals) Interviewed on -May 18, 1998- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1- What is the funniest thing that happened to you or the funniest thing that you ever did? Hmm, well, a lot of funny stuff has happened in the past few years, but one of the only ones that I can remember right now is this time that I went to the salvation army store in downtown San Diego a while ago with a bunch of my friends. We shopped around for a while, and then, when we were walking out, one of my friends was walking right behind me, and I jumped up and spread my legs and farted right in his face. It was really funny until I turned around and saw that it wasn't my friend, but some old lady... 2- Whats next for Blink-182? Lot of touring still, and then in the fall we are going to start recording the next record. 3- How long are you guys on tour for during the year? Between nine and ten months. 4- How is it now that you guys "Hit it Big"? we do not consider ourselves as having "Hit it Big." We definitely feel very lucky to be where we are, and the band has gone much further than any of us have ever expected, but we still consider ourselves a small band from San Diego. I don't think that we ever want to think of ourselves as rockstars. 5- Were you guys in other bands before you hooked a started blink? Yes, the first band I was in was called the Pier 69, and then I was in a band called Of All Things. Tom was in a band called Big Oily Men. Scott was also in a band, but I forget the name of it. 6- I've heard that you guys are sponsored by Billabong, how did that come about? We are friends with the people that run it. 7- What is the best part about being in Blink-182? Being able to get paid for doing what I love and get to hang out with my friends while doing it. Also getting to travel everywhere and meet cool people all over the place. 8- Did you always want to be in a band? Yes. 9- Was "blink" the first name you guys came up with for the title of your guy's band? Well, I think we called ourselves Duck Tape for a while, and we tossed around the name Figure 8, but I don't think we ever really used those names. 10- Whats the weirdest thing someone ever asked you? after a show one time this girl came up and asked if she could lick my face. That kind of creeped me out... 11- Is there any plans yet for your upcoming records? In the fall... ____________________________________________________________ Interview with Blink-182 (Interview by the electric ink magazine) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ So tell us a little bit about yourself mark. MARK- My name is Mark Hoppus, I play bass and sing in Blink-182. I'm a pisces. I like long walks on the beach, I like short walks on the beach. I like beaches and anything having to do with the beach. Why? MARK- Basically what I like to do when I get down to the beach is strip down naked, run into the water, then run and sit straight down into the soft sand. Wiggle around for a while, let the sand start to ferment and then I'll take a long walk down the beach. TOM- Let the sand ferment like cheese? MARK- More like fine wine. Do you like wine? MARK- I don't like wine. I like mixed drinks. I don't even like beer... Beer is for men, cocktails are for gentlemen. So what else shouldn't we know about you? MARK- I don't give up until the woman is completely satisfied. I won't quit. I'm like the terminator in bed. If I can't get the job done right then I just look at her and say, "I'll be back" and walk off, refuel, cruise back in and finish the job. And what about you Tom? What's your story? TOM- My name is Thomas Delonge. I play guitar and sing. Where did you grow up? TOM- In Poway, here in San Diego. I went to Poway High School, graduated from there went one year to junior college. I took a human sexuality course and... MARK: He graduated Magnum Cums Louder. TOM: Actually the class was really fun and I think later in life I'm going to be a surrogate partner. I'm going to grad. school for that right now. I'm starting out as a stunt person on pornos. Ok Scott, tell us a little about yourself. SCOTT- I'm Scott Raynor and I play the drums and I have to say that I take up the majority of the good looks in the band. MARK- He hogs all the good looks. TOM- Like all the good looking guys... he hogs them all. MARK- He hog ties all the good looking dudes. So do you get all the girls. Don't you have a girlfriend? SCOTT- Yeah, I have a girlfriend. Tom has a girlfriend also who apparently likes ugly guys. TOM- She looks for what's inside. MARK- She looks for what's inside. She's a proctologist. TOM- She gave me a proctology exam. We both have girlfriends and Mark doesn't. What's it like on the road with Blink-182? MARK- It seems like every day one of us is taking a crap. TOM- Like every single day, like poop every day. Our van doors are sealed with muck residue of fart and dude smells. SCOTT- Being on the road is a lot of fun and a lot of work. We pass the time by making stupid jokes. You don't say. MARK- It's not so mush the jokes as it is Tom will be in back of the bus totally naked. How is it like being sponsored by Billabong? TOM- They leave their back door open at night and we sneak in and steel stuff. MARK- The guys that run Billabong are super cool people and help us out a whole lot with tours and covering the areas of unwanted fat on their bodies. They design cloths especially for me because I'm pulling a lot of weight. Paul keeps saying he's a really good kisser, but I don't know what that means. I haven't experienced that. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | |||||||||||||||||||
